In a highly contested Central Executive Council(CEC) election held on February 14, 2024, Ololade Peter Alayo, popularly known as Ultimate, emerged as the 21st ASCOM President-elect, unopposed.
After the Association of Students’ Communicators(ASCOM) general election held at the Mass Communication building, new executive members claimed office having triumphed over their opponents, while some candidates emerged winners, unopposed.
The position of Vice President 1 was fiercely contested, with Eriayo Seyi-Gbangbayau claiming victory after receiving 168 votes, surpassing Ogunleye Seyifunmi’s count of 148 votes.
Rachael emerged victorious as Vice President 2, securing a significant 224 votes against Elizabeth Adetola’s 105.
Sobayo Joy claims the post of General Secretary, defeating her opposition, Hannah Oyekunle with a total number of 202 votes to 132.
Aside from Ultimate's landslide victory, several other offices were unopposed, offices like the Sports Director, making Bello Olasubomi secure the role of Sports Director, Clement Ayomide Ojo as the Welfare Director, and Obideyi Ayotomiwa Abraham as the Librarian.
Kimmani was elected unopposed as the PRO, with Badru Abdulazeez securing the assistant PRO. Otegbeye Vanessa secured the Social Director spot and lastly, Ogunkoya Folafunmi claimed the office of Assistant General Secretary.
