Further Updates on the Alleged Assault: Press Releases by Houses of Senate (OOUSUG & NAOSS)

Following allegations of assault of a student (Ogunmokan Samuel Adeoye) levied against the SUG president (Comrade Adeogun Moshood Feyisetan), the House of Senate, ad hoc Committee on media of the OOU Student Union Government has released a press statement on Monday, the 30th of May, 2023, condemning the alleged incident.

A 9-man committe consisting Constituency Leaders from the 9 constituencies of the union has also been set up for the purpose of investigating the said allegations. The committee is expected to submit its findings within the next 5 days. The House of Senate also expressed their solidarity with the allegedly assaulted student and pledged dedication to providing a safeguarded environment to the student populace. 

In the same vein, the House of Senate, National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), has shown solidarity with the allegedly assaulted student, stating that it has begun its investigations and urged the SUG president to come forward with an actual account of what transpired between him (SUG President) and the student. The senate body also called on the management of Olabisi Onabanjo University, and all human rights organisations and stakeholders to thoroughly investigate the situation.
