"How Ibogun SUG Elections Was Rigged" - ECO Presiding Officer Reveals

 By Temidire Bada

The Election at OOU Ibogun Campus

The Students' Union Election which held on Tuesday, 29th October has continued to raise brows amongst students and stakeholders who seem to have unanswered questions.

The most intriguing is the Ibogun unit elections which has sparked speculations of irregularitip and malpractices with videos and clips, disclosing how ballot papers were filled by some persons in a secluded area. The result of the election can therefore be questioned.

Speaking exclusively to Campus Mirror, Senator Emmanuel Adesina, who was the ECO Representative to Ibogun for the elections, communicated that the election was characterized by inadequacies that was justified by the videos. In his words, "I got to know that most people around me was biased, it was a planned work, but I stood my ground that's why I didn't sign the election".

Emmanuel, who further stated that the manipulation did not exclude highly esteemed individuals, on Tuesday night refused to sign the Elections documents acknowledging the unit results.

Surprisingly, the ballot papers for Ibogun Campus was counted, despite the Eco Rep refusal, leading to the Final announcement of results.

The Dean, Students Affairs who manned the Proceedings, ordered that the papers, be counted, urging anyone with grievance against the outcome of the result to report to the Petition Electoral Committee(PECO).

However, Adesina who is also known as Seun AOA has affirmed he wouldn't sign the Elections papers, owing to his Integrity and promise he made to his "Clan".

Although, there are petitions against Mr Seun at the PECO, regarding sale of form in his Constituency (Faculty of Arts). He maintained that the issue will be resolved as the DSA has intervened.

Meanwhile, Seun has come out to advise Newton, a Presidential Aspirant from Sagamu Campus not to file a petition, "because if he files a petition, another person will file petition against him that their Election(Sagamu) was also rigged".

He disclosed that he has seen the video from Sagamu, the person was even close to them.
