New Dawn for FASA as Orunmila emerges President

Last Tuesday, the students of faculty of Arts, in masses came out to decide with their votes for a 400 Level student from the department of Philosophy, Akeem Taofeeq Ayobami popularly known as Orunmila who emerged the President-elect of the Faculty.

The unposed president and a one time aspirant for the post of PRO at Students' Union Government explained to Campus Mirror that there were a lot of things to be considered before one could vie for a political post in an institution like Olabisi Onabanjo University.

He patently stated that his ability to meet up with those qualifications paved way for his success in the just concluded election. Having made his intentions known to the students of the faculty, Orunmila said that Students' welfarism would be the focus of his administration. He further added that there will be a need to hold urgent meeting with the Dean, Sub Dean and other Officials of the Faculty with the aim of setting up mini market at the faculty, photocopier and typesetting shops and relaxation centre for the students.

He generally promised impartiality and proper fund management as the faculty do have a general account.

In his approach to the General Secretary election where the winner won with just two votes, Orunmila said, "Adeyinka Taiwo is the favourite but Ayantuga Dipo is strong, The way he speaks is his selling point and he's courageous." "Life is not an issue of do or die affair but a game of win or lose. An escaped antelope should not rejoice for tomorrow is another day" he concluded.
