A man who claims to be an alumnus of Olabisi Onabanjo University with a pseudo-name "Dr. Odunayo," has been allegedly caught by the school authorities on Wednesday, the 31st of May, 2023 for organizing a fake lecture in the LLT3 hall involving the newly admitted 100-level students of the University.
The fake lecturer "Dr. Odunayo" also proceeded to sell five (5) handouts at the cost of ten thousand nairas at a charge of two thousand nairas each. In an interview with one of the students who attended the lecture; Eniola from the Department of Chemical Science confirmed the incident with Campus Mirror. She stated; "what I noticed at first that made me start doubting him was that while teaching, he was not calm, he was either making calls or looking out other windows and doors." Eniola also confirmed that he also has two (2) accomplices with him, who were also doing the same thing.
According to other students of the University (O.O.U) who had similar experiences during their 100-level days. They explained that this is not the first time a man had scammed newly admitted students by selling expensive handouts and organizing fake lectures; lying to the students that the repercussion of not purchasing them will be the school forcing them to buy them.
It is the desire of every student affected and unaffected for the management of Olabisi Onabanjo University to prosecute the fake lecturer and put in measures to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
