A Professor of Health Education, Prof. Olufemi Olukoya Kalesanwo, has stated that individuals who possess health knowledge but fail to practise it cannot be regarded as health educated.
In a video posted on Facebook on Thursday by OOU Radio 92.1 FM, while making an announcement about his forthcoming inaugural lecture at the university, the professor stated that, "If you claim that you are knowledgeable about health information and you are not practising it, you are not health educated," noting that the lecture is aimed at addressing gaps between health knowledge and its practical application, as well as encouraging improved healthy lifestyles.
The inaugural lecture is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) Hall, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. It will be the 128th inaugural lecture of the institution and is themed, "Health Education, Knowledge and Practice: A Pathway to a Healthy Lifestyle."
