This was disclosed to OOU Campus Mirror by the Chief Security Officer of the University, Mr.Adekunle Rasheed Bankole in an interview held last week.

Mr. Rasheed said that the strength and equipment of the security unit has been increased which automatically give room for adequate security. He added, '' We now have some Ex-service men in the likes of police and military men on campus with arms. We have also installed the CCTV which covers all activities in every corners of the University with experts monitoring it.

“We equally have operation MESA who are always patrolling the Campus, anyone that is caught in an unjust act will be taken away by the security operatives.'', He said.

While advising students not to join bad groups, Mr. Rasheed urged those who may have joined to renounced their membership before it is too late.

''We want our students to remember their background. They should know they are here to get educated and not to commit crime. The University will not condone whoever is against the peace of the institution. Such person will be shown the way out of the University. ''

He further urged students to be law abiding, to avoid indecent dressing and other crimes like rape, stealing, examination malpractices, cultism, fighting, assault and other unduly acts.
