In a stunning development, students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) have erupted in protest following the announcement of a significant increase in school fees for the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year.

The increment in fees which started showing on students portals today, Thursday, December 21, 2023 has triggered widespread outcry and raised concerns about the accessibility of education among students and parents. The proposed fee hike, varying between 162.89% to 175.77% across departments, has sent shockwaves to the student community and their families.
