Robing Ceremony of OOU VICE-CHANCELLOR.

The celebration of the Robing ceremony of the 11th vice chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Professor Agboola was held on the 21st of June 2023 at 2 pm in the school premises at OGD hall. Leading to this robing ceremony, Professor Agboola was approved as the new VC of Olabisi Onabanjo University on the 13th of October 2022. The sole aim of the robing event is to officially approve the Vice Chancellor to sign the conformity of the Vice Chancellor. 


The Special Adviser of Justice to the Oguntate government, Oba Sikiru Adetona amongst other special guests of honour was present at the event. Professor Agboola's disciples, who were present at the event, presented a frame to the newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor with a quote “Dear vice chancellor, we want to take a moment to congratulate you on your Robing Ceremony. Your impact before becoming Vice-Chancellor is felt and It is clear that you are a man of vision and passion. We do not doubt that your tenure will be beautiful and peaceful, and we know that your tenure will bring positive changes to our institution. Thank you for your dedication and leadership style. Congratulations once again on this well-deserved occasion"



During an interview conducted by Campus Mirror reporters with the VC after the ceremony, he said “ I want it to be known that my students are employable." The Vice-Chancellor talked about the improvement of students' experience, the efforts to strengthen the alumni network, and for students to identify their main concerns and utmost needs. He also added that "A plan is underway to significantly improve campus shuttles by developing customized mini buses, to address transportation problems." 


The OOU Management is already consummating plans for the introduction of smart identity cards for students. Apart from individual identification, the ID card would be used for payment of tuition and other specified fees such as gate passes, access to health care services, shopping, and many others.


While the program was ongoing, the vice chancellor appreciated the obas and all the guests present at the ceremony. He promised that he will make sure students are comfortable in the school and ensure they benefit from the entrepreneurial engagement provided by the school. The vice chancellor's wife was present at the ceremony to celebrate her husband, as well as his children and friends.
