Campus Mirror reported last week that the matriculation ceremony which was earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 10th of January 2018 has been adjourned as a result of incomplete admission lists released.
It was learnt that the matriculation ceremony could not yet be conducted by the university as it was still in the process of releasing more lists of admitted students.
This development puts fresh hope in the minds of students who have applied for the university and are yet to gain admission.
It would be recalled that the university has released up to 6 different admission list, several irregular admission list and direct entry lists this year alone. This is unusual for the Ogun state owned institution which admitted over 5, 000 students in 2016 with just two batches.
Campus Mirror gathered that the delay in this year's admission is not the fault of the school but the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's (JAMB) new admission procedure called Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
"You see the delay in admission is not the school's fault. JAMB is now on a new platform known as Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), which simply means that all admissions will now be given directly by the board and it is not only our school that is experiencing this, it is all over the country ", an informed source told Campus Mirror.
The newly established JAMB method of admission is a well designed software known as Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), where human interference will be completely removed, to promote credibility. It is in line with JAMB's mandate to ensure fairness irrespective of tribe and religion and mostly, to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
