HDS INAUGURATE NEW CEC EXECUTIVES

The Department of History and Diplomatic Studies at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) has officially welcomed its 2025/2026 Central Executive Council (CEC) leaders following the screening and manifesto exercises held in December 2025.

The screening of aspirants took place in January 8th 2026 at an undisclosed location, where students interested in executive positions were evaluated after purchasing nomination forms. All aspirants passed the screening and became eligible to run for office.

The manifesto presentation was held on the same day of the screening at fault 003 around 2:00 p.m. During this session, aspirants shared their plans for the department with fellow students. Students were able to ask questions and hear directly what each aspirant intended to do if elected.

No formal election was held because all the aspirants ran unopposed. Even though there was no contest, the aspirants still presented their manifestos and engaged with students to explain their goals and ideas for the department.

The new leadership officially assumed office on January 12, 2026.

 The CEC team includes Akinwale Victor as President -400 level, David Precious Obazu as Vice President -400 level , Ogunmoye Esther Testimony as General Secretary - 400 level, Joshua Timothy Seun as Assistant General Secretary - 200 level, Dawodu Dorcas Moyinoluwa as Financial Secretary 400 level, Oladokun Esther Anuoluwapo as Social Director- 500 level, Obadina Awwal Anjolaoluwa as Sports Director - 200 level, Ojediran Jafar Olalekan as Welfare Director - 200 level, and Adepoju Olamide as Public Relations Officer (PRO) - 200 level.

The department believes that the new leaders, even though unopposed, will bring unity, effective leadership, and fresh ideas to the student community. Students are encouraged to support the new team as they carry out their duties throughout the academic year.
