The outgoing Student Union Government (SUG) President, Ogunsanya Bamidele Peter also known as Sen. Pizzle has expressed gratitude to the students for their support and trust throughout his tenure. Speaking at the inauguration of the newly elected executives, he emphasized the importance of unity and continuity. Sen. Pizzle urged students to rally behind the incoming administration to uphold the legacy of progress and student welfare.
Sen. Pizzle recounted his term as an "experience of a lifetime," celebrating the accomplishments of his administration, including the abolition of the Technology Fee and successful advocacy for reduced school fees.
The administration's achievements ranked from infrastructural upgrades to student welfare initiatives, such as food palliative distribution, ensuring all students' participation in exams, putting an end to online classes, except for GNS classes with large attendance, and having a better transportation system across external campuses.
Sen. Pizzle urges the new executives to prioritize student interests and uphold their responsibility to serve, he emphasized the importance of accountability and student advocacy.
The outgoing president call on students to stand united, hold their leaders accountable, and safeguard their rights moving forward.
Sen. Pizzle expressed pride in his term as SUG President, expressing confidence in the new leadership's ability to push the union to greater achievements. He called for continued solidarity among students and a commitment to upholding the values of the institution and the students' union.
