The OOU Students' Union Government (SUG) Electoral Commission has released dates and schedule ahead of the election.
The electoral committee through a memorandum released in the late hours of March 18, 2024, outlined the proposed electoral schedule for the 37th SUG election coming up, stating that;
Security and Management Screening for the aspirants will be held on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024. The Electoral Screening of Candidates by the Electoral Commission will take place the following day, which is Wednesday, March 27th, at the OOU Permanent Site (PS).
Likewise, the manifesto presentation for aspirants vying for posts in the SUG Central Executive Council (CEC), is scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. Moreso, DEMO elections to familiarize voters/ students with the voting process will take place on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, and ratification of any issues arising from the DEMO will be on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2024.
Forging ahead, the CEC general election, according to the press release, will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, followed by the Students' House of Senate (SHS) election, which is scheduled for Friday, April 6th, 2024.
