OOU SUG 36TH CEC, SHS DISSOLVES, NEW ECO APPOINTED

The Senator Pizzle and Abiodun administrations in the executive and legislative respectively came to an end on Friday, March 15, 2024.

The ceremony which took place at the Moot Court, OOU Permanent Site (PS), Ago Iwoye, had many activities such as; the dissolution of the 36th Central Executive Council (CEC) administration, the appointment of new Petition Commission (PECO) officials, dissolution of the 36th Hallowed Chamber of the Students House of Senate (SHS), the appointment of new Electoral Committee (ECO) officials for the upcoming SUG election, which is set to be led by Senator Habeeb Soledoja as the Chairman.

The outgoing SUG President, Senator Ogunsanya Bamidele Peter, popularly known as Sen Pizzle, in his speech during the dissolution ceremony stated the achievements of his administration.

"Even though it is the shortest administration in the history of OOU SUG" according to him.

The achievements include a reduction in the hiked school fees introduced by the school management, scrapping of technology fees and online lectures at the beginning of the 2023/24 academic session, reduction of transportation burden on students, and introduction of Cowry Bus into the Varsity across campuses, renovation of Large Lecture Theatre (LLT) 3, provision of sound system, make the lecture theatre more ventilated and conducive for learning, reconnection of electricity in the SUG building.

"In conclusion, I express my sincere appreciation to everyone who has played a role, big or small in the success of Senator Pizzle's administration, even though the Senator Pizzle Led Administration is the shortest in the history of OOU, I am proud to say Sen Pizzle Led Administration achieved a whole lot that would have been achieved under the normal time duration of an administration. This wouldn't have been possible without your support, I am confident that the spirit of collaboration and dedication that has brought us this far will continue to guide our University and the Union at large. Thank you once again, may we all continue to strive for excellence. LONG LIVE OOU, LONG LIVE S.U.G, may the spirit of Aluta never forsake not depart from us,” he concluded.
