It is worthy to note that as OOU decides her next Students' Union representatives, effective work display is being exhibited by the OOUSUG Electoral committee.
On Friday, 23rd of July, 2021, the OOUSUG Electoral committee screened all candidates vying for the different CEC positions in the union and followed the due process according to the OOUSUG constitution which led to the disqualification of two aspirants; Ajayi Damilola (Damtop) and Sunday Adeyinka.
QMouoting Section 34, sub-section 2 which says: "He shall be a full-time registered Student of the University from a financially related discipline with a CGPA not less than 2.50 as at when contesting", these two were disqualified based on their disciplines as Comrade Ajayi Damilola is a student of Department of Political Science while Sunday Adeyinka is a student of Department of Agricultural Extension and these departments do not correlate with the post they are aspiring for.
The electoral process continues with the Manifesto Declaration on Monday, 26th July.
