Suicide Isn't An Option - By Odubela Olawale Francis

A writer once said and I quote “Suicide doesn’t end the chances of life getting worse, it eliminates the possibility of it ever getting any better.”

For no reason would you think of suicide when you think about God’s love for you and also the things and goals you are yet to accomplish in life.

You are here in this world for a reason and you are yet to accomplish that goal. The world is a market place where you must sell all your wares before you return to your base. It is like a moving train you pay at the beginning of the journey which was when you swam to that egg and cracked it to start forming in your mother’s belly.

Remember, you were the fastest of over 1000 semen and you made it out of that struggle then why suicide?

I got an information that a 100 level student committed suicide because of a course he failed, that is disastrous, when a horse throws you down at its feet you get up and plan on how to mount the horse again.
In my 100 level days I was so playful and I underrated school work and when result came out I was devastated, then I realized how foolish I was to expect good grades when I didn’t work for it.

I sat myself down had a rethink, fastened my belt, hooked my sandals and I decided to do the undoable even though reading is like a thorn in my flesh still I had to give myself a strong hope on success. I left my comfort zone(my home)to read with people that can help my situation, to realize my goals and now I am much better than when I first started.

I know many have prepared for the exams and still got result which did not complement their hard works but I want you to know that ‘Everything that happens to man in life is not a coincidence because it has been destined to happen and there is a way out if only we can see through the thick forest and NOT think of DRINKING SNIPER’.

Before you take that 500 Naira to the chemist, think about how everyone you love and everyone that loves you will feel when you are gone, how you're going to be a source of sorrow to your family and friends and still think leaving this world is the best option, mind you punishment awaits you for taking your life and without accomplishing your mission on earth.

Do you know how awful that insecticide smell when you use it in your house not to talk of drinking it? From my research I've never seen anyone who drank that insecticide and live to tell the story.

My dear friends, suicide is never an option! Kingsley Davies and Wilbert Moore under the functionalist theory spoke about Role allocation and effective performance and from their theory it is stated that “Every individual have a role to play in the society be it the Bourgeoisie or the proletariat and both classes exist to work together. Then proletariat are there to assist those who own the means of production which are the bourgeoisie and without the proletariat the bourgeoisie won’t be able to attain greater height.

Before you think of suicide think about your family of procreation and think about your family of recreation and think about how fun filled this life is and how many lineage you killed just because you couldn’t think straight to see how sweet this life is.
Depression can set in anytime, just try to talk to someone close to you. The major thing that keeps me going is the ultimate goal which is “Never give up on life and make Dangote a learner with his money because I want to beat his record as the Africa richest man”. It’s possible with hard work and commitment.

“Anyone desperate enough for suicide should be desperate enough to go to creative extremes to solve problems: elope at midnight, stow away and start over, do what they always wanted to do but were afraid to try.”

“Place your hand over your heart, can you feel it? That is called purpose. You’re alive for a reason so don’t ever give up.”

Depression is real but suicide is never the option.
Let Say NO to suicide together
Think positively
Stay focused
Talk to someone today and save a life!!!
