The President elect of Social Science Students' Association, Mustapha Bolaji popularly known as GR8BJAY has strongly reiterated that his administration is aimed at making life convenient for every students .
Speaking in an interview with OOU Campus Mirror hours after the long postpostned faculty election was concluded, Bolaji revealed that being the president of the faculty, his tenure will make education convenient for students of the faculty by involving the lecturers and Head of departments on issues that seemed to have no solution."We will be working hand-in-hand with all the lecturers, HODs of each departments and I won't be a representative that won't be able to rapor with the lecturers. I will put in all my best to make life comfortable for my follow students".
Bolaji, patently revealed that his administration will also execute physical projects that will aid academic activities for students. "We are going to carry out a lot of visible project like bringing public address systems to the lecture hall.
I can't imagine 1,000 students being in a hall without Public Address System and these halls do not have fans and am not very sure what's wrong with the fans. We will work with the school management and all departmental presidents to ensure that the major needs of each department under the Faculty are met.
We might have financial challenges but we will not stop until we actualise our dreams." he said Speaking on the challenges faced during the election, the President-elect confirmed that there were a lot of challenges but he boldly urged the students to always aspire for greater achievements."The Postponement of the election was a big challenge. I could not attend classes all because I was passionate about serving my people. I also encounter difficulties from people who didn't believe in me because of my stature, people look down on me and said that I cannot be the President.", GR8BJay said.
In his own remarks, the Electoral Committee Chairman of the Faculty, Adeeko Yusuf Kolawole (Yusluv) described the just concluded election as the most free and fair election in the history of the University.
He advised the elected aspirants to be focused and execute their duties diligently and masterly.
