LISSA HOLDS MAIDEN INAUGURATION FOR SECOND EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION

The Library and Information Science Students’ Association (LISSA), Olabisi Onabanjo University, on Wednesday January 28th 2026, recorded a historic milestone as it held its first-ever inauguration ceremony, ushering in the second set of departmental executives and Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Multimedia Section of the Department of Library and Information Science, formally marked the beginning of a new administration led by Adeyinka Boluwatife Samuel, taking over from the immediate past leadership under Adekoya Abdulsalam Adebayo, whose tenure laid the groundwork for continuity and progress within the association.

Addressing the newly inaugurated executives, the Head of Department, Dr. Odunewu, congratulated them on their emergence and urged them to lead with discipline, accountability, and a clear vision for the welfare and academic advancement of students.

The event attracted key stakeholders within and outside the department, including the ASCOM President Obideyi Ayotomiwa pka Aso Rock, lecturers of the Department of Library and Information Science, Mr Buraimo and Miss Mabawonku, SOSSA executives, and members of the student body.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Electoral Body, Muritala Timileyin, affirmed that the election process was conducted in strict adherence to the LISSA constitution, describing it as free, fair, and credible.

The inauguration ceremony signified not only the formal handover of leadership but also the growing institutional strength of LISSA and its commitment to democratic governance within the department.
