ORANGE CORNERS TRAINS OOU STUDENTS ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND CAREER BUILDING

Orange Corners Nigeria, an initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, hosted the Dare2Dream Seminar 2025 on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Olabisi Onabanjo University, main campus, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

Orange Corners Nigeria is a Non-Governmental Organization in partnership with Fate Foundation to equip innovative young Nigerian entrepreneurs by giving knowledge, mentorship, networks, and finances. The theme of the seminar was Ignite Your Dream, a wake-up call to both entrepreneurs and students who are yet to figure it out.

The seminar featured notable speakers who greatly impacted the audience by sharing diverse insights from their respective fields. They included Adebola Emmanuel Sofela (Honorable Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment), who was ably represented by Mr. Akinwunmi Shamisdeen; Falaiye Titilayo (CEO/Founder, Orange Strategy LTD); Victor Adedotun Ogunleye (Talent Engagement Manager, Guinness Nigeria PLC); and Paul Akolade (Co-founder, Vant Inc.).

Mr. Akinwunmi Shamisdeen spoke on the topic Dream Big, Start Small. "Every great achievement begins with a dream, a spark, but dreaming big is not enough; you need an action, no matter how small, to back up that dream to achieve success. Entrepreneurship is not only about making profit; it's about turning passion into productivity."

Falaiye Titilayo spoke on Building a Business with Nothing. She shared her experience on how she started her business with nothing but eventually got sponsors because of her ideas. "I was motivated by Nigeria's poor waste management, and that pushed me into founding Orange Strategy LTD in 2014. I had no money to sponsor my idea, but I kept telling people until I was able to get sponsored by Sterling Bank for two years. Start small, get feedback, and set simple goals," concluded Falaiye Titilayo.

Building a Brand was the topic Paul Akolade enlightened the audience on. "Opportunity doesn't come to those who want it but to those who connect. Being a student is not a hindrance or limitation but a leverage to succeed. Networking is not about your contact list but your reputation list."

Unlocking Your True Potential was the topic of discussion which Victor Adedotun Ogunleye used his expertise to analyze for the audience. "Academic excellence should be one of your leverages. Live a life of purpose, find your purpose. Don't just exist, but live. Be determined to make a difference. Make a move; take the lead."
