Students of Olabisi Onabanjo University are set to benefit from practical discussions on global career and educational opportunities as The RitaRock EduConsult, in partnership with the Students’ Union Government, hosts the “From OOU to Global Access” programme on May 19, 2026, at the OGD Hall, Ago-Iwoye campus.
Speaking ahead of the event, the founder of The RitaRock EduConsult, Rita Oskilo Sopelu, said participants should expect to gain practical knowledge and clear guidance on opportunities many students may not yet be aware of.
According to her, the programme is designed to provide students with clarity on pathways to international education, scholarship applications, graduate examination preparation, and strategies for positioning themselves for global career opportunities.
“We have structured the discussions to be practical, not motivational. Students will leave with actionable knowledge and access to a network of people who have walked this path and are willing to open doors,” she stated.
She also explained that the selection of speakers was deliberate, noting that each guest represents pathways students can aspire to.
She noted that the speakers were chosen based on their professional achievements and experiences that directly reflect the realities many students face while preparing for life after graduation.
The event will feature notable personalities, including legal practitioner Festus Ogun, OOU Students’ Union President Kehinde O. Bamgbose, alongside other accomplished professionals and academic achievers.
Rita described the event as more than a one-time programme, stressing that it is part of a broader movement aimed at expanding access to global educational and career opportunities for Nigerian students.
She revealed that the maiden edition was hosted earlier this year at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where over 1,500 students attended.
“This is a movement, not a moment. OOU is our second stop, and we are already planning the next. Our goal is to take this to every major university in Nigeria because every student deserves access to this kind of information regardless of where they study,” she added.
Attendance at the event is strictly by registration.
