ALL TO KNOW ABOUT THIS SEASON'S CHAMPIONS FOOTBALL LEAGUE (CFL)

The Champions Football League (CFL) is a football tournament established by keen football enthusiasts to promote football rivalry among students of Olabisi Onabanjo University and also serves as an avenue for players to show their skills and talents on the field of play. 

 

Last edition saw FC Robo win the League with an unbeaten record. They also went on to defeat SeaWolves 5 - 1 in the finals of the Cup game. FC Robo boasts of spectacular players like Enitan Olamide- who emerged league's highest goalscorer, Adegbite Dolapo (Okocha), Muraina Akorede (Liadi), the list goes on and on. 

 

 

For this year's edition ten(10) teams would battle it out to be crowned tournament winners. Each team is expected to face the remaining nine (9) opponent and maximum points for Cup qualification would guarantee a team's sport in the Champions Football League (CFL) Ultimate Cup. 

 

Here are things to know about this Season's CFL;

 

● A total number of ten (10) teams are registered for this edition of the Champions Football League. 

 

● There would be a total number of nine matches played by each team across the season for the League. 

 

● The top six teams at the end of the League gain automatic qualification for the Cup games. 

 

● The 7th, 8th,9th and 10th placed team at the end of the season and also possible new entries get a chance of qualification by playoffs. 

 

● The playoffs would determine the remaining two (2) teams that would join the already qualified teams,making it a total of eight (8) teams for the Cup games.
