The Students Union Government of Olabisi Onabanjo University informed OOUITES via a Press Release on the 24th of May, 2023, regarding new innovative solutions to solve the long lasting transportation issues, unsavory fraudulent acts among others across campus.
The proposed innovation will involve the adoption of cowry (smart) card and the long vehicle (macopolo), that will be put in good condition to provide easy and convenient transportation for students, and also put an end to fraudulent activities among others.
The smart card was stated to serve as exam pass for students, that will be used as a means of student identification and as time goes on, the card will also be used to board cabs and as means of payments in motion ground and within the campus premises. According to the Press Release, "the main purpose of this innovation is to reduce students' stress."
