OOU Declares 3-week Break for Elections

-Ayoade Olamide and Barakat Soyemi

Following the Federal Government's declaration of closure of all varsities on 9th February, 2023 due to the forthcoming 2023 general elections; the management of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) has complied to the directive of National Universities Commission (NUC) to suspend all academic activities for the elections.

After the emergency senate meeting held on Friday, 17th February, 2023, the management released an Internal memorandum to pronounce the suspension of all physical academic activities from Monday, 20th February till Tuesday, 14th March, 2023.

As physical academic activities are suspended, the Senate approved that virtual lectures should hold during this period. Students are expected to receive their lectures online during their stay at home. In addition, the 2021/2022 calendar will also be adjusted to appropriately conform to the new changes and development.
