This Is Not A Co-operative Society" - ASCOM Social Director, Akeju Condemns New SOSSA Logo

A logo is a symbol or emblem that acts as a trademark or a means of identification hence nothing aside their activities could describe and illustrate the minds and concepts of an organization better than her logo.

It could we recalled the Social Sciences Students' Association (SOSSA) has recently unleashed a logo for its newly created association. However, hearing his views on the new identity, the Social Director of ASCOM, Comrade Akeju Tunji Samson has described the logo as just 'a sample'. "I can only see it as a sample. Maybe they are trying to throw out a kite so that we can see their initial plan because I don't see it as a logo." Akeju said.

According to the Mass Communication Student, an academic logo should carry along anything that illustrates and defines the aims and objectives and should be embedded with educational and academic symbols. Akeju condemned the use of handshake in the logo saying that it does not align with the motto and purpose of the association.

"Their motto said, 'Navigating the societal storm'. I don't know maybe the handshake is what they want to use to navigate the societal storm." Akeju said.

He described the use of handshake which is used by co - operative organizations as too low for a faculty of highly respected, intellectual and exceptional folks. He further advised that the governing body should setup a committee and should be guided by people who have held some certain positions on things to be done even though it is just a newly evolved administration.
