The Faculty of Education emerged champions of the FLA 2026 tournament after a composed 2–0 victory over the Faculty of Science in a tense and drama-filled final.
The match, which began with high intensity, saw both sides locked at 0–0 by halftime. Education had an early opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot, but the chance was squandered, leaving fans on edge and adding to the growing tension on the pitch.
Despite the setback, Education returned in the second half with renewed determination. Their persistence paid off when Abu Solomon, popularly known as “Mannie,” broke the deadlock with a well-taken opener. His performance proved pivotal as he continued to influence the game, driving his team forward and maintaining pressure on the Science defense.
Education later sealed the victory with a second goal, confirming their dominance and securing the championship title.
Speaking after the match, the Education captain expressed confidence in the team’s performance, stating, “I believe the better team won.” He also praised Mannie’s outstanding display, adding that he was the rightful choice for Man of the Match due to his impact and goal contribution. However, the captain dismissed any suggestion that the victory made him superior to his counterpart from the opposing team.
Mannie, who played a crucial role throughout the tournament, was officially recognized as Man of the Match for his decisive contributions in the final.
The victory marks a significant achievement for the Faculty of Education, capping off an impressive campaign and solidifying their place as champions of the FLA 2026 competition.
