BMS OUSTED FROM FLA FRESHERS' CUP

By Oluwatobiloba Adeosun

The faculty of Basic Medical Sciences(BMS) has been disqualified from the Football Lovers Association(FLA) Inter-faculty freshers' cup 24/25, for fielding unqualified players.

FLA made it known to the public about the faculty's disqualification from the competition, in a short statement on their Instagram page, ooufla_backup.

The statement reads :

“BMS DISQUALIFIED FOR FIELDING UNQUALIFIED PLAYERS 👍.”

Meanwhile, matchday 3 of the competition, which took place on Friday, recorded three wins and two draws with certain teams like LAW, MEDPHARM, and others, hopes crushed of making it past the group stage.

The Faculty of Law Coach, Testimony, popularly known as Black Law, describes his experience in the competition as rave and roses and also discloses tireless efforts put in by his team, but unfortunately couldn't keep them in the competition.

“My experience in the league so far is rave and roses because, in the first match, we were very excited; in the second, we lost 5 goals to nil, and all hope was on today's match. We needed a win but eventually lost the game.

“After our first match, I saw that the players have prospects but just needed to work on minor issues, and I am sure they will strive and come out well in the SUG game,” he said.

The captain, Chukwuemeka, attributed their qualification loss, to over-excitement caused by coming victorious in their first match of the competition.

“From the beginning of the match on Monday, the strength we came with was encouraging, and there was a great result at our first match. Subsequently, we came with over-excitement, thinking because we won the first match we would win the second match, and that cost us a loss.

“This one we played today, we drew. It was a wonderful experience; at least we got exposure, and I hope more cups will come as we play,” he added.
