The Governing Council of Olabisi Onabanjo University on the 4th of July, 2024 at its 214th meeting appointed the school’s new registrar, in person of Dr Caleb Ilemobayo Orukotan. The appointment of office is to take effect from 1st of August 2024, spanning for a period of 5 years.
Dr. Caleb Ilemobayo Orukotan was born on April 6, 1970 in Ayila, Ogun Waterside local government area of Ogun state. He had his Secondary Education at Ogunmodede College from 1982-1987. His quest for further education took him to the then Ogun State College of Education, Ijagin (now Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology), and later the University of Lagos, Akoka, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Education) Honors degree in Management. He thereafter proceeded to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye and later the University of Benin, Benin, Edo State, where he bagged his M.Sc (Industrial Resources and Human Resources Management) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degrees (Industrial Sociology and Labour Relations) in 2010 and 2021 respectively.
He has extensive Administrative experience in the University and other Tertiary Institutions including being an Administrative Officer at the Lagos City Polytechnic, Ikeja, Lagos (1999-2005) and the Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, which he joined as Assistant Registrar in 2005. At the University, he worked and headed several divisions such as Establishment Office, Council & General Administration, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Human Resource, and some Colleges of the Institution. He rose through the administrative ranks to become a Deputy Registrar in 2018, and is currently the Deputy Registrar, Council and General Administration of the University.
Dr. Orukotan has served in various Committees and other high level organs of the University. He is to resume office as the registrar of the school on the 1st of August 2024, for a period of 5 years.
