The Olabisi Onabanjo university, Ago Iwoye, Ogun state Held its 2025/2026 Matriculation ceremony yesterday, 8th January 2026, at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel ( OGD ) hall, main campus.
The event was an official ceremony through which newly admitted students are formally accepted and recognized as bonafide members of the the institution. The institution admitted 9,803 students out of over 40,000 applicants.
The matriculants share their reactions about the event. While some felt happy and excited, some felt indifferent about it. Akinbami Pelumi, one of the matriculants said "I am grateful to God for this great privilege of becoming a bonafide student of OOU. I have heard a lot about OOU and I am glad to be here to also have an experience of my own."
Another student, Talabi David, a broadcasting student said "It's like every other day to me, nothing special, today just seem like a free day. I chose OOU because most of my siblings graduated from OOU."
One Oluwaseyi Olukoya, also Matriculating noted "I am excited and very happy because it is not an easy task to be admitted to OOU. I want to use this medium to encourage those still seeking admission, don't give up, keep putting efforts, you will get it soon."
