DIGITAL AMAZONITE TRAINS OOU FEMALE STUDENTS ON DIGITAL SKILLS.

The women's platform, The Digital Amazonite, founded by Precious Akintulubo graduated 12 participants from its female-focused training on the 11th of November 2023.

Digital Amazonite trains female undergraduate with the skills to help their business evolve, this gives them a better chance to secure job employment. The platform accepted a total of twenty participants from the University of Olabisi Onabanjo to train females about their business. The training topics range from Digital Marketing, Business Branding, Graphics design, and content creation to help undergraduate business owners promote their brands.

The President of Junior Chamber International Olabisi Onabanjo University (JCIN OOU), Paula Ogundeji was the keynote speaker at the graduation event.  Olugbode David and Precious Akintunlobo were panelists and they spoke on relevant topics. The event featured lectures, games, presentations of certificates, and awards to participants.

 

 

Adeleke Esther Boluwatife emerged as the Most outstanding participant of Digital Amazonite Hub 3:0 as well as the most active participant. Boluwatife is the new face of Digital Amazonite and will also have the opportunity to tutor other females next year.

In an interview with Campus Mirror, Adeleke Esther shared her experience and advice to the next females of Digital Hub 4:0 2024.  “It wasn't easy trying to combine it with other activities. But I did well to prioritize my time. Most times, I had to attend to the assignment and project in the middle of the night. It wasn't easy but I'm glad it was worth it and to the next Amazonites.
She concluded by saying,  "What is worth doing, is worth doing well. When you know the value of something, don't take it for granted; grab it with both hands and do your best in it.”

 

The Creative Director, Precious Akintulubo, spoke with Campus Mirror about the intention behind holding the training. The significance of the event is to celebrate females and to get rid of their fear of tech as the world itself is going Digital. This will ensure gender equality in the tech field, she said. Speaking about the future of Digital Amazonite, she said, “We are looking forward to moving across universities in Nigeria and spreading the training scheme across secondary schools.”
