Comrade Ajayi Samson Ayodapo, OOU Sports Director, cleared the air on the delay of the SUG Football Final Games in a recent interview with Campus Mirror.
The SUG Final games had been put on hold for some weeks which had made sports enthusiasts in the school demanding an explanation of what might be the reason for the delay.
In an interview conducted by Campus Mirror, the Sports Director apologized for the delay in the Final Game and also gave a detailed explanation of the reason behind the delay.
He said, "The reason for the delay can be narrowed down to the lack of financial strength from the Sports body currently".
He further added that a proposed date had been chosen but the whole event still looks to be put on hold since the budget for the Finals is yet to be attended to by the Senate.
Furthermore, Comr. Samson appealed and pleaded to the necessary Sport body to do more when it comes to matters of Sports in the school. "Sports from its onset in OOU have been lacking finances and I've been trying my best but it seems my best is not enough," he added.
To put out a message across to football enthusiasts in the institution, he said; "they should not limit their skills to the four walls of the school. They should go out and meet people".
Team SOSSA is expected to face ARTS in a third-place match while Team EDU is to have a feisty encounter with CEES in the Finals of the SUG CUP GAME.
