The newly elected OOU SUG electoral committee chairman, Comrade Adeeko Yusuf, popularly known as Yusluf has said that this year's election would come in a free and fair manner.
Yusluv said this while having a chat with Campus Mirror.
Yusluv also made it known that he intends to make the ballot papers that are going to the external campuses minimal compared to what it used to be.
"Actually, as we all know that the external campuses are not many like the main campus, then they used to take much ballot paper to the external campuses, but in my own tenure I would make sure that the ballot papers that are going to the external campuses are not that much.".
He further stated that the 100L students that want to vote for choice of candidate can now do so because the constitution has paved way for the 100L to also cast their votes provided they met the requirements that has been laid down.
"What is stated in the constitution is that 100L are not expected to vote but now it has been changed,100L are eligible to vote and the only pre-regusite that is available for voting is just ID card and for those who are with just temporary ID card, they are advices to stamp it at the academic session if they want to use it". He said.
Although Yusluv can't make decisions on his own, he has said that if there is anything that needs to be passed across to the aspirants, he and his committee would sit and whatever decisions made would then be passed across to the students.
In his final words, the electoral chairman urged the entire students populace to come out in mass to vote for the right candidate in the forthcoming SUG Elections.
