Olabisi Onabanjo University has announced a pre-mobilization briefing for its final-year students ahead of the 2026 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
This was made known in an internal memo issued on March 25, 2026, by the institution’s Directorate of Students’ Affairs and signed by the Deputy Registrar (Students), G. B. A. Shoaga.
According to the memo, the briefing has been approved by the NYSC Director-General and is targeted at prospective corps members in the 2026 Batch ‘A’ category.
The briefing is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, by 11:00 a.m. prompt at the OGD Hall within the university. Provosts and Deans across faculties have been directed to sensitize all eligible final-year students and ensure their attendance at the important session.
The memo further revealed that officials from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters and the State Secretariat will be present to provide firsthand information and guidance on mobilization procedures and requirements.
In a bid to accommodate students who may not be physically present on campus, the university stated that the programme will be streamed live, enabling broader participation.
Copies of the memo were also forwarded to key university officials, including the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of Students’ Affairs, and College Secretaries/Faculty Officers, to ensure proper dissemination of the information.
The briefing is considered crucial for final-year students as it will address essential details regarding their transition into the NYSC scheme.
