THROWBACK THURSDAY: WHEN CKAY LIT UP OOU WITH LOVE AND MUSIC

By Abdulmalik Adegbite

Remember that night when OOU (Ago-Iwoye) stood still, and music filled the air at WosAm Arena? If you were there, you already know what I’m talking about; a night of love, vibes, and pure energy that left everyone vibing.

On Friday, March 31, 2023, a Nigerian music sensation, CKay, performed his "Boyfriend on Tour" at WosAm Arena, which was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. With Boyspyce, Jaido P, YKB, and other stars in the lineup, the concert wasn’t just a show; it was a whole vibe.

The evening started on a high note, with back-to-back Naija hits bursting the speakers. Boyspyce hit the stage and had everyone feeling his smooth mix of Afropop and R&B. Then came Jaido P, who completely changed the atmosphere with his raw rap energy and unique sound, making the crowd (students) go wild.

However, the real magic happened when CKay stepped onto the stage. The crowd went wild, and for good reason. From "Love Nwantiti" to "Felony" and "Emiliana," CKay didn’t just perform, he owned the stage. Every note, every lyric had the audience singing along like they were in a live music video. He didn’t just bring music; he brought a connection that felt personal like he was performing for each of us individually.

The night wasn’t just about the music, though. The event was flawlessly organized, with solid security and top-tier sound that made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. By the time the show wrapped up, it wasn’t just a concert it was a core memory.

Looking back, CKay’s stop at OOU wasn’t just a performance; it was a moment. A moment that reminded us why we love music, why we love community, and why nights like that stay with us long after the lights go out. If you were there, you felt it. If you weren’t, well, you missed out.
