Due to the scarcity and increase in the price of petroleum over the past few months, transportation fares had been raised. Today, June 10th, 2024, after carefully considering the effects of the fare increase, which has been a financial burden on students, the Student Union and Transport Committee announced an immediate reversal of the transportation fares.
The new fares are as follows:
- Pepsi, formerly ₦300, now ₦250
- Oru, formerly ₦400, now ₦300
- Mini Campus, formerly ₦300, now ₦250
- Ago Garage, formerly ₦300, now ₦250
- Itamerin, formerly ₦400, now ₦300
This decision aims to ensure that transportation remains affordable and accessible to all students. The Student Union expresses its appreciation to all students for their cooperation and understanding during this challenging period. It is hoped that the new fares will ease the financial burden on students and be more accessible to everyone.
