SEVEN GOAL RECORD FAILS TO SAVE STED IN THE HANDS OF COMMUNICATORS

By John Oyebode

The department of Mass Communication team today, March 21st, 2024, eliminated former favourite  of National Association of Ogun State Students Interdepartmental Cup - STED,  at round 16 with a 1-0 win.

STED who had initially been on a goal rampage since the start of the competition, recorded their first ever loss and goal drought as they failed to find the back of the net against communicators in contrast with their high scoring record of seven goals in the competition.

While speaking with Azeez Paul popularly known as Fadar, who scored the lone goal which sealed the spot for mass communication in the next stage, off an assist by Dalton, he said; “I felt happy and more confident that I turned up when the team needed me the  most".

Communicators coach, Olamide Abdulsalam popularly known as Manic while speaking on their win, he said; “It's a fact that STED are a good side but respect for your opponent is different from fear for your opponent, I made the boys understand that no matter how good STED are it will still be 11 vs 11 men on the pitch. We just did what was right today and we defeated them, until we win the cup there's nothing to shout about. Regardless, kudos to the boys.”

Here's a look at three other teams who also secured their spots in the next round of the competition:
