OOU REDUCES SCHOOL FEES AGAIN, SCRAP TECH FEE

The Students Union Government of Olabisi Onabanjo University has announced the outcome of the union engagement with the school management and the Ebumawe of Ago-iwoye, Oba Abdulrasaq Adeshina Adenugba. 

The SUG in a memo released on Monday, January 8th, 2023 clarified that there’ll be further reduction of N20,000 in school fees for returning students ranging from N260,000 to N170,000 as against the former fee which was around N550,000 to N380,000. 

The Union in a way of supporting indigent students also assured that there’ll be a flexible payment structure as a result of the unfavorable economic situation. 

“The #5,000 Technology Fee has been completely abolished. The union deemed it necessary as the totality of student interest were against the payment of this services and with one voice we are able to achieve this milestone,” the memo states. 

“We've successfully advocated for the resumption of physical classes, fostering a more engaging learning environment.”

“We want to reassure those in the school hostels that any increment will not be tolerated, and there will be a refund for those who have already made payments.” 

“To those doing IT, there is no increment in your log book, however the soft copy would be made available on the portal to be downloaded and printed by individuals who are up for IT” 

“For our freshmen, rest assured that your interests were taken into account during the negotiations. The initial proposed fees have been significantly reduced, reflecting our commitment to ensuring a fair and accessible education for all. In subsequent years as you move up the ladder you will also pay the same tuition fee as returning students.” 

The Students Union appreciates the support and patience of all the students and urges them to resume promptly and actively engage in all school activities while proceeding with the payment of the revised school fees as per the reached agreement.
