The opening ceremony of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Hall started at exactly 1 PM on the 25th of July, 2023. In attendance, there was the Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabajo University Professor Ayodeji Agboola, Chief Joju Fadiro, Professor Toyin Ashiru, Dr Bimbo Ashiru, Professor Charles Olukoya, Chief Mrs. Matilda Iyabo Apanpan, Dr Ken Opara and other dignitaries.
The first welcome speech was given by the CIBN Chairman, the second was given by the Vice Chancellor of OOU. Professor Toyin Ashiru gave his speech and also welcomed oou students especially. Dr. Bimbo Ashiru also gave a short speech describing how happy he was about this project.
The hall was officially opened and a tour around the building was done after the official first lecture was given by the OOU Vice-chancellor. Shortly after his first lecture, the official handing over of the keys to Olabisi Onabanjo University was done with a group photograph of all the dignitaries physically present. Lastly, a group photograph of the dignitaries and the students of Banking and Finance department was taken.
