OOU SUG, LUSH HAIR PARTNER TO PROVIDE DISCOUNT HAIR PRODUCTS FOR STUDENTS

The Olabisi Onabanjo University Student Union Government partnered with Lush Hair to host a 3-day hair product pop-up event for students on campus. The event, funded directly by the Lush Hair company, is being held at the School Park from April 14th to 16th, and yesterday, being the first day, featured several students who turned out to purchase products at discounted prices.

The SUG revealed that Lush Hair's agents initiated the partnership, having previously activated at other universities, including the University of Ibadan. "Our school is not in an urban area," a SUG official noted, "but securing this deal is just the first of many for this administration.”

Bishop, the Lush team lead in an interview with OOU Campus Mirror yesterday said, Lush Hair was brought to campus to encourage students to have and maintain good hair quality, increase their visibility as a brand, as well as create more awareness among university students on campus.

Bishop also stated that OOU students have the opportunity to purchase Lush products at discounted prices compared to regular retail.

“There is a discount of 5% on any product you buy from us here within these three days, be it dry (attachments, french curls etc) or wet hair products (hair relaxer, hair shampoo and treatments). There's also a bonus of you getting a free hairdo, as well as meeting with our stylists to relax, treat and add some touch ups to your hair if you get our products,” he said.

“There is, however, no limit as to how much a student can buy from us,” Bishop added. According to him, students can purchase their available products in bulk and sell in retail if they wish, which in a good way creates a business opportunity for the students.

Lush Hair, having partnered with Unibadan as stated earlier, still plans to visit more schools so as to increase awareness on the purchase of Lush Hair products and why it matters. 

Tobiloba, a 300-Level student who attended today, said the free hairdo was a bonus she didn't see coming, adding that the products were good quality and the discount helped. The event continues tomorrow and on April 16th, from 10 am to 5 pm at the School Park.
