Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, has conferred an honorary doctorate degree on the Chief Executive Officer of Bet9ja, Mr Ayo Oduroye, in recognition of his outstanding entrepreneurship, significant contributions to Nigeria’s financial and economic system, and enduring commitment to societal advancement.
The honour was bestowed during the institution’s 35th Convocation Ceremony, which attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, and key stakeholders from across the country.
Speaking at the event, the university described Oduroye as a visionary entrepreneur whose business leadership and philanthropic efforts have positively impacted lives, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, education, and economic development.
The convocation ceremony was graced by the Federal Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani; the Pro-Chancellor of OOU, Prof Toyin Ashiru; and the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba (Dr) Rasak Ogunmade, alongside other royal fathers.
Also in attendance was the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who represented Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The conferment of the honorary doctorate further underscores OOU’s tradition of celebrating individuals whose achievements and service continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.
